2022 Western Kansas Scholastic Art Awards
Montezuma, KS — February 08, 2022 — The Twenty-Eighth Annual Western Kansas Scholastic Art Awards (WKSAA) Competition and Exhibition 2022 is on display from February 08 through March 04, 2022 at the Stauth Memorial Museum, Montezuma, Kansas.
The Western Kansas Scholastic Art Awards consists of photography, sculpture, metals, glass, drawings, paintings, ceramics, graphics and much more. The WKSAA is pleased to announce that there were 504 submissions this year with 154 making the show and being awarded in the following categories. There are 5 American Vision nominees, 24 Gold Key awards, 39 Silver Key awards, plus 91 Honorable Mention awards.
The WKSA is an affiliate of the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. The American Vision and Gold Key winning artworks go on and compete nationally. The National Gold Medalists will be announced in March 2022 and will be honored during a special awards ceremony in New York City. A complete list of 2022 regional Gold Key Scholastic Art & Writing Awards recipients will be available online at artandwriting.org.
The WKSA Awards contest has a 7th - 8th grade division and a 9th - 12th grade division. The WKSAA consists of the following 31 counties: Cheyenne, Clark, Decatur, Finney, Ford, Gove, Graham, Grant, Gray, Greeley, Hamilton, Haskell, Hodgeman, Kearny, Lane, Logan, Meade, Morton, Ness, Norton, Rawlings, Scott, Seward, Sheridan, Sherman, Stanton, Stevens, Thomas, Trego, Wallace, and Wichita..
